The pile driver got up steam at the wharf last evening and a crew of men went to work with it this morning. Colonel Revell has been allowed by the government thirty-three acres of the homestead staked by him at the head of the bay according to an ex change. The fishing around Woodrow Park, at Mile Six, is now splendid. Ac comodations may be secured at the Johnstom roadhouse in the Park. Across the bay John Nash has the most wonderful cat on record. Thi.-> feline hunts rabbits like a terrier and brings home the game right to the house. Miss Ruth Spence, daughter of the district attorney for this division, has been elected school teacher at Unga by the school board. Miss Spence i «nn accomplished young lady. T. M. Fiske of Wenatchee stated recently to a Juneau newspaper that he has purchased a half interest in the business of (i. G. Roe of Seward. ( Fiske went out to bring in an outfit for enlarging the business, according to the same authority. Mrs. Isabel Goetz has taken a posi tion as stenographer in the Rank of Seward. Herbert Tozier went over to Mile Twenty last evening on one of the railroad rigs and sent back word that the snow has disappeared from the summit.
