MARION L. SMITH . Editor Volume I. SATURDAY, MARCH 3, 1951 Number 2. EDITORIAL COMMENT Everybody seems to know what is wrong with the village of Robbins, ff you talk about politics, everybody has the answer—how the village should be run. If it is civic affairs that you talk about, again everybody knows what should be done. Only a very few will pitch in and help to do the things that they think should be done. The people who wish to criticize this village from the political point of view or the civic or religious point of view, should first stop and ask themselves these questions: How Much Money Would it Cost to Do it as You Would Do It? Or How Much Time Can You Give Toward Doing It as You Would Like to See It Done? Or Where Will You Get the Money To Do It? Or Whether You Will Need and Get the Cooperation of Others? If you can answer these questions to your satisfaction then it seems that you would do the village far more good. I believe you, yourself, will get more pleasure from knowing that you had done a good job for your community than sitting around criticizing the village. The few who are giving time and money to try to make Robbins a better and more beautiful place in which to live are too often criticized about their efforts. In many cases those who are criticizing have plenty of time but refuse to give it to helping to do things in Robbins. Others have the money but they don't spend it in'' Robbins to help build Robbins. Don t be a KNUUKhn; be a bUUblbttl it you live m Robbins be a BOOSTER FOR ROBBINS. Robbins will be ONLY what the people of Robbins make it! We have some people here who are so high and mighty that they can find time only to criticize what others are trying to do. The job of building Robbins is no one-man, nor one woman job; it is a job FOR ALL THE PEOPLE OF THE VILLAGE—YOU, ME and EVERY CITIZEN who calls Robbins, "HOME." The churches are varied in Robbins and they need all the brain and talent they can get. They welcome the same. The Health and Recreation League needs all the brains, t'alent and know-how they can get. The Social Service Club, organized since 1929, is open for members to help carry out their program. There is plenty of work to be done, but very few to do the job. ■0. C.
