BACK STAGE • Looked in on the Elk's Freeman Greene, Sonny Stout's Night in the Dug Out. It was a great affair, but where was Freeman Greene and Sonny Stout? • Speaking of the Elks, don't miss the Smoker, March 10th. Ask any Elk about it. • Were you present at the Lincoln Memorial School Sunday? It was the NON-PARTISAN'S kick-off — and what a kick-off it was I Sonny Stout (Call me Edgar Bergen) was slay ing them with his usual line. Tom Murphy (Call me Charlie McCarthy) was sitting on Edgar Bergen's lap. Oh yes, here is the Non-Partisan Slate for Trustees: U. Turner, Sr., Leo Marsh (I was defeated last time) and Zip Johnson. • Will someone tell us why Zip Johnson is not on Bowman's milk truck? Get fired, Zip? • Speaking on politics we will cover the other parties in a later issue. • Dig this one! James (I own a Pontiac) was playing last Sunday out to Tom McGill's when in comes a prominent 139th street business man with wifey! Oh Boy! 139th St. wanted to fight, but it was leaving time then. • Chris Washington (I own a gas station) draws more money from the village hall than anyone else, so they say. He even carries a clock in his back pocket that turns the water on and off in Robbins. Ask Chris all about it. • If you don't want it told, don't do it. i • Paul Cochran (I am the president of Robbins Celebration Week) has not been seen around the night spots recently—guess he is quite busy making plans for the celebra tion. • Bill Rechord has been seen on Robbins Avenue quite frequently, can it be that he has some new interest? • Mrs. Bertha Hendricks (I am Rob bins Chairman of the National Red Cross) attended the kick-off party, February 27th, 1951. Let's all get behind her and help her to make her goal in the 1951 Red Cross Fund Drive! ■-o OPPORTUNITY FOR THE PREPARED GIRL A letter is being mailed with your telephone bill this month asking young women to apply at 2417 York street, Blue Island, Illinois, between the hours of 8:30 and 5:30.
