ROBBINS DOPE PEDDLERS
MUST PAY FOR CRMES
By Captain Aaron Stout
The grim and firm hand of
Justice wrote the- final chapters
of the story of Robbins’ nar
cotic peddlers and users.
Many of you bave no doubt,
forgotten and dismissed the
drive of the Robbins Police de
partment in their efforts to rid
this village of the death-dealing
plague of drugs. Your Robbins
Police Department, with the
able assistance of the County
and government officials swoop
ed down one Saturday morning
and gathered in 14 dealers and
useres of narcotics. Of that
number, seven are now in cus
today, and one is dead. Two are
in Lexington government hos
pital for drug addicts. So you
see the percentage of winning
against the forces of the law
are very small.
We write this article, not to
embarrass families, friends and
associates of those who have
paid the penalty, but to save
some of those who might be
standing on the threshold, or
playing with the idea of joining
a wild group of narcotic users,
taping to reach a Schangra La
frem the prick of a hypodermic
needle, only to end up in prison,
thg hospital or in the watery,
fihhy bosom of the sanitary
canal.

The Two Bullock Boys re

le*n iwo
Margaret Dilsbury, known as
Margaret Lamb received her
pay for her narcotic explora
tions in the dank, filthy waters
of the Sanitary canal.
Add up the score, Youth of
Robbins and you will find that
those who participate in the hor
rible orgy of narcotic traffic
fine.
are deeply in the red.
Yes, the wheels of justice
grind slowly but exceedingly
ATTENDS MARDI GRAS
Mrs. Estella Cousins left the
village Sunday, February 21st,
1954 to attend the Mardi Gras
in New Orleans. While there
she will visit with relatives and
friends, planning to return about
March 7th.
Mrs. Cousins is the wife of
Mr. B. R. Cousins of 3417 W.
i 139th Street.
AVOID
TYPHOID
Dr. John B. Hall, Director,
Cook County Department of
Public Health, urges residents
of the Robbins area to plan now
to receive the typhoid immuni
zations which will be offered on
Monday, March 8th, 15th, 22nd
and 29th, at the Robbins Health
Center.
“Epidemics of typhiod fever
are frequently traced to contam
inated water,” Dr. Hall said,
“and persons who live in areas
where wells may be contamin
ated by flood waters should take
advantage of this opportunity to
be immunized.”
Dr. Hall explained that three
(3) injections, a week apart,
are necessary for protection
against the disease. However,
for persons who have received
the series of three (3) injec
tinos only a single “booster”
dose every three years (3) years
is required.
Typhoid immunizations will
be given by a physician from
the Cook County Health De
partment on Mondays, during
March, beginning March 8th,
at the Robbins Health Center,
139th and St. Louis Avenue,
Robbins, Illinois, from 4:00 to
7:00 P. M.
