The OUTLOOK
By Pastor Stephens
“WHAT SHALL I DO”
“ Another year is seperated
from the chain of ages, and
drops into the gulf of the past.
The New Year comes surround
ed by all the forebodings of the
unknown. What does she hide
in the clouds which mantle her?
Is it storm or sunshine?” These
are the thoughts of many as the
New Year is ushered in. The
Child of God is not free from
such fears, but he has that which
helps him to drive such thoughts
away. His eyes are lifted up to
Him who is the ruler of nations,
whom earth and sea must obey.
His help comes from above, from
the Father of lights, with whom
is no variableness, neither sha
dow of turning.
What shall I do and what is
my concern about those who
have ndt received ithe living
Christ into their life? Shall J
boldly accept the challange of
the great commission of our
blessed Saviour the Lord Jesus
Christ this year of 1958? There
are many right here in Robbins
Illinois who scoff about religion
and ridicule the existence of
God, of heaven and hell. We
have men and women who
never go to church and are not
concerned aibofut their eternal
welfare. What shall I do con
cerning those who say: “All
religions are good, and all
people who pray worship the
same ’God whether they call
Him Allah or something else’’?
What shall I do about those who
say: “Jesus was the best man
llvtfu LM.lt WHUC Luiiltiiiy
tous]y bout His deity and His
work of atoning for the sins
of the world by suffering and
dying?” What about our respon
silhility to those who sincerely
trust in the works of their own
hands for their salvation, and
say: "I do what’s right; I live
at peace with my neighbors anr’
known that God will reward me
by taking me to heaven”? May
the piower of God’s Holy Spirit
move every delivered soul to
fee motivated to proclaim the
livimg Christ to a dying world
What shall I do must be start
ed to day if it is to be done at
all. And what greater work can
we do than to give a light for
those who walk in darkness
Let Him who is light shine in
our every day living that others
may be led by Him through
us.
