recreational welfare at Fort Ben
ning.”
The new Chairman of the board
is Chaiman of the Building Com
mittee of the Columbus School
Board, President of B’nai B’rith
Israel Congregation, and Treasur
er of the Jewish Welfare Feder
ation. The Co-Chairman is Vice-
President of B’nai B’rith and a
member of the Synagogue Board.

one of the Schemer boys in North
Africa, where both men are serv
ing in the army, both of them
had a little weep . . . they were
both so glad to see someone from
the old home town . . .
Benny Weinstein (formerly of
Furchgott’s here) one of Jax’s
former play boys was so impress
ed with the Jewish achievements
in Palestine (where he was sta
tioned with the U. S. Army) that
he sent in his dues to the Zionist
Organization to Robert Travis of
Atlanta . . . Bennie also wrote
enthusiastically of the PATS, the
equivalent in Palestine of our
WACs . . . The PATS are all Jew
ish girls . . .
The Way It Should Be: The

papers by two weeks in its reve
lation by the Washington-Merry-
Go-Round that President Roose
velt was going to put a gag on all
discussion of the Zionist question
for the duration . . . But such a
scoop is the way it should be . . .
That is the purpose of the Anglo-
Jewish press: ... To keep the
Jewish public aware of events as
they affect Jewish life before
those events creep up on us and
take us unaware . . .
