POLICE STAGE RAID IN
TEL AVIV
In Palestine, a Jewish girl was
arrested after a police raid in Tel

Three men, who were on the pre

escape. Arye ben Eliezer, a mem
ber of the American Emergency
Committee to save the Jewish
People of Europe, was among
those arrested in recent raids. He

MILITARY NOTE
The Jewish servicemen at Camp
Kraft, South Carolina, have or
ganized a Jewish Advisory Coun
cil to sponsor and co ordinate
Jewish activities. The members
of the Council are for the most
part persons who were important
in Jewish communal activities be
fore the Army called them up for
service. They are conducting a
campaign of their own for the
United Jewish Appeal . . . Private
Sam Slvun, formerly a Hebrew
teacher in New Haven, Connecti
cut, tells of the revived interest
in Jewish customs, laws and ob
servances among the soldiers. At
services one morning another
private, about 25 years of age,
approached Sloan and asked:
“Would you teach me to put on
t’fillin? I put them on once be
fore in my life, at Bar Mitzvah.”
—Arn.V.d Levin.
Serious errors in the production
