It is indica tive of the “go-getting” spirit behind this newly re-organized chap ter for men in the 18-80 age group. The Jacksonville Chapter of Masada has just been reorganized, and we are striving very diligently to make a great go of our chapter. The hardest part of our reorgani zation is behind us, I believe, but plenty of work lies ahead. We received your membership kit, and by the way, it was very well-written and planned, and we find that you do know what you’re talking about. In fact, we’ve followed quite a few of your suggestions for obtaining new members. So far, we have had articles in the press arid on the radio, we have co-sponsored two affairs, a New Year’s dance and a barn dance, having as our guest of hohor at the latter affair, Mr. Herman Popkin, our Regional Di rector. Both affairs were a great “WE APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS” Cash Building Material Co. 564 STOCKTON STREET PHONE 7-7446 THE SOUTHERN JEWISH WEEKLY success, but were not followed up by publicity on our part as we had no publicity set-up until this week. The Jr. Hadassah was kind enough to handle it for us—and by the way, I do believe you will find the local chapter of Jr. Hadassah here, one of the best in the coun try. With reference to the drive be ing conducted currently, be ad vised that our records indicate twelve paid up members on Jan uary 15. We are entering this “contest” with this figure in mind —incidentally we are well over 30 members at this writing, and our personal contact teams are get ting more each meeting—even those that thought “they were too busy”. We would appreciate it very much if you will continue for warding us any new ideas on membership gains, and we will continue contacting you if you so desire. I myself am new at this. I don’t know the contacts, nor what they are interested in knowing. I do know that we’re going to have a “go-getting” Masada Chap ter here in Jacksonville. JUST WATCH! Please let us hear from you. With Zion’s Greetings, /s/ SAM SILVER Chairman, Membership Committee /s/ IRVING GENDZIER Chairman * * * * Masada sponsors social activ ities, sports and discussions, and is the ideal organization for young men of the Jewish faith.
