As you may know, each year in the past three years, we were compelled to turn away hundreds of wonderful children who want ed to come to Camp Ramah, sim ply because of lack of space. Knowing what this meant to the parents, the children, and to Jewish Education, this has given us much concern. We could not increase the capacity of Camp Ramah in the Poconos without harming the character of the camp. Yet, we had to do some thing to meet the increasing de mands for the Ramah program. After much discussion, we agreed to open a new Camp Ramah. We selected a beautiful spot at East Hampton, Connecti cut, and with the help of a few friends, we were able to put down a deposit of $5000.00 and sign a contract for the acquisition of the camp.
