put City College on probation for
a year. The NCAA president is re
portad to have said that City
College players had agreed to ac
cept money for a Latin American
tour, and that Holman knew of
these plans.
Holman is up in arms over the
accusation, and has protested to
the NCAA. Said Holman:
“The reference to me was com
pletely false. The trial committee
which reviewed the case rendered
a decision confirming this fact in
every respect. I have suffered
enough from the unfounded
charges made by cowardly and
irresponsible peopß You had no
cause to issue your libelous state
ment which was broadcast nation
wide. Ordinary decency and fair
play call for a prompt retraction
of it.”
