But evidently the people are available, for when the groups are formed they prosper . . . Such a new baby is the third congre gation which recently made its appear-* ance in Orlando during the summer . . . I understand it is a most happy under taking, and bears reporting ... We have just heard that Joseph Greenbaum, son of the Herman Greenbaums, is in the Air Force Security Service, and is stationed somewhere in Cali fornia . . . Herman and Lillian Greenbaum. who are now making their home in Lakeland, were for mer residents of Gainesville and Tampa, Florida . . . ***** We were deeply this morning (Monday) to learn of the death of Margaret S. Lenk. who ■passed away Sunday night . . . Added to this sorrowful chapter of her life was the affliction of arthritus which crippled her and caused her tor tured body to bend itself in two . . . Yet, it was this woman who was never without a smile . .*. It was Margaret Lenk who saw so much beauty in the things around her. who uplifted everyone w’ho earn? in contact with her . . . A resident of River Garden, she served as a president of the Golden Age Club and was a mem ber of every Jewish women's or ganization in the community . . . She attended discussion groups, and added much by her charn and wealth of knowledge ... In her youth she had been an ac complished pianist ... In her aging years the music she created for others sprang from her own well springs of courage and spiritual beauty . . . Hers was an “old age” well spent ... It was an inspiration to many—young and old ... It is with sincere grief that * our community marks her passing . . . 4 4 4 4 4 The opening luncheon of the Ladies Hebrew Sheltering Aid Society will be held October 26th on the grounds of River Garden . . . It will be a picnic lunch, and an interesting program is being planned . . . During the afternoon Sidney Entman, Director of River Garden, will make his report on the proposed new addition to the present Garden Home . . . Plans for the enlarged facilities for the Home have been in the formative stages all summer . . . Announcement will now be made of the completed proposals . . . The new r infirmary building with the new dining rooms and kitchens will enable River Garden to increase its capacity of resi dents from 46 to 75 . . . The addi tion will be made as a connection on the original wood frame build ing in which the Home was b. gun . . . Eventually the old house will be removed, leaving only the pro posed new building, and the mod ern annex which was completed several years ago . . . The esti mated cost of improvement is $300,000.0') . . . The Ladies Aid Society serves as an auxiliary to the Home . . . Its president is Gert (Mrs. Ike) Witten . . .
