ALPHA EPSILON PI • At a meeting at the fraternity house, 717 Alpha Drive, Tempe, on Nov. 26, the following officers were elected: Walt Bader, president; Sheldon Miller, vice president; Harvey Faber, secretary; Mark Schisler, treasurer; Dave Zaslow, historian; Barry Lichter, sentinel. * * * BETH EL SISTERHOOD The annual Torah luncheon of Sisterhood is set for Tuesday, Jan. 8, at noon at Beth El auditorium. A dramatic presentation, written for the occasion by Brenda Weis berg Meckler, will be given. Mrs. Jack Finkelstein, chairman, asks that anyone having a Torah Box bring it to the luncheon. Guests are invited to attend, and a baby sitter will be available. Members of the committee are Mmes. Moshe Tutnauer, Benjamin Rothstein, Stanford Roth, Benjamin Goor, Theodore White, Milton Hersh, Albert Zeitlin, Arthur Hen teleff, Leo Rubin, Joseph Neegan, Elsie Wynn, Louis Green, and Phil lip Marcus. * * • BETH HEBREW SISTERHOOD A luncheon and card party will be held at noon, Jan. 9, at Car nation Social Hall. The group will meet weekly on Thursdays at 8:30 p. m. at Har Zion Congregation, 44 W. Ist St., Scottsdale. Cantor Benja min Perl is musical advisor. Musi cal director, Mrs. Albert Kreisman, announced that the choir will func tion as a Yiddish choral group for social affairs and programs. JEWISH NATIONAL HOME FOR ASTHMATIC CHILDREN The next general meeting of the Phoenix chapter of J.N.H.A.C. will be held on Sunday, Jan. 20, at 8 p. m., at the Jewish Community Center. It will be a social, with cards and mah jongg on the pro gram. Refreshments will be serv ed-, and the public is invited. * * * KIVEL NURSING HOME AUXILIARY Mrs. Morris Meckler, cultural chairman, has planned three pro grams for the month of January for residents of Kivel Nursing Home. On Jan. 10 the entire first act of Morning Star will be pre sented; on Jan. 13 the Kiviat chapter of 8.8. G. will host a post- Chanukah party; and on Jan. 29 an illustrated talk on India will be given. A birthday celebration honoring Ursen Arthur Sewrey, who will be 100 years old on Dec. 31, and Jos eph Friedberg, who will be 96 years old on Dec. 30. will be held at Kivel Nursing Home on Dec. 31. • * * NATIONAL COUNCIL OF JEWISH WOMEN On Dec. 6 Mrs. Charles Schisler of Tempe was installed as presi dent of the Phoenix Section. Her officers are: Mmes. Sam L. Robin son, secretary; Luke Strass, treas urer; and Charles Lavick, finan cial secretary. A Chanukah party will be held at the home of Mrs. Lil Padorr, 5552 N. 11th Ave., on Sunday, Dec. 23, at 7:30 p. m. Elfrieda Silver will monologue a play for members at their Jan. 9 meeting at the Temple, 63rd PI. and Indian School Rd. Miss Silver, who recently starred in “No Exit,” has appeared at the Phoenix Little Theatre and the Sombrero Play house. She began her professional career in Germany and went on to appear in England and Stockholm before coming to this country.
