Hear Sermon On Truth
“Truth” was the subject of th6
lesson-sermon in all Christian Sci
ence churches -nd societies or,
Sunday, July 25.
The Golden Text was from 1
John 5:6. “It is the Spirit that
beareth witness, because the Spi
rit is truth.”
Among the citations which com
prised the lesson-sermon were the
following from the Bible: “I have
chosen the way of truth; thy judg
ments have I laid before me. Give
me understanding, and I shall
keep the law; yea. I shall observe
it with my whole heart” t( Psalms
119; 30,34).
The lesson-sermon also included
the following passages from the
Christian Science textbook, “Sci
ence and Health with Key to the
Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
“Spirit imparts the understanding
which uplifts consciousness and
leads into all truth. Spiritual sense
is the discernment of spiritual
good. Understanding is the line of
demarcation between the real and
the unreal. This understanding is
not intellectual, is not the result
of scholarly attainments; it is the
reality of all things brought to
light” (Page 505).

(IP)— Lieutenant Frank Kovacs, the
United States professional tennis
star, flew 600 miles to Sydney
today to play a special exhibition
against Jack Crawford, the former
Australian amateur champion and
Davis Cup player, but the match
was cancelled at the last minute.
The Australian Lawn Tennis as
sociation ruled that if Crawford
met the American pro. the status
of Australian amateur Davis Cup
players might be challenged in
the future by American net ollt
cials.
