Woodbury said Wednesday, as he announced the number of apart ments and rooms furnished to war workers in July by the govern ment agency. He said there were also more than 50 vacancies for families in trailers located near the shipyard. He did not indicate the reason for the new vacancies but it is generally understood they were brought about by the termination of former occupants’ jobs at war plants here. During July the center rented 583 apartments to war worker families. Of this number 62 were occupied by Negro families. A total of 127 persons were furnished rooms in private homes.
