500 rounds a minute in emer

bursts, of about 40 aimed shots
a minute, and has an effective
range of about 1,000 yards.
Mounted on scout or armored
cars and personnel carriers,
it becomes an effective anti

pounds, its tripod 40 pounds
more, this gun’s hard for the
infantryman to carry over dif

necessarily official word is expect,

power Commission in Washington.
When that word comes, Shepherd
explained that immediate notice
will be given various organizations
and groups representing employ
ment throughout the area by a
series of articles in the newspa
pers and several radio talks.
The commission has set a ceil
ing on the maximum number of
employes any given firm may have
in a 60-day period, putting, a defi
nite replacement schedule. Hiring
quotas for all firms will be estab

of needed workers the employers
may seek raising of the number
of workers.
The Employment Service will re

ployes needed to fill his quota, and
those firms or business establish
ments with higher priority rating
will be furnished men first. The
ratings are determined by service
in the community and war effort.
