Dec. 6.—(#)—Profit cashing stalled recently buoyant rails and steels in today’s stock market but relative strength of motors and other assorted indus trials was an offsetting factor. The Assocciated Press 60-stock composite was up .1 of a point at 56.2. The market was broad, 960 issues registering. Of these 458 were up against 502 down or un changed. Transfers totalled 1, 475,770 shares compared with 1,? 427J80 and were the third largest since last July 17. Prominent advancers included Pepsi-Cola, Chrystler, General Motors, Douglas Aircraft, East man Kodak, Pan American Air ways, International Harvester and Southern Railway. U. S. Steel was up 1-8 and Bethlehem unchanged. Losers included Santa Fe, South ern Pacific, U. S. Rubber, Western Union “A”, Westinghouse, DuPont. Allied Chemical, Glenn Martin and J. C. Penney. Bonds were steady with rails showing most improvement. Cot ton w?as 10 to 25 cents a bale higher. XT’ FORMER GOVERNOR OF VIRGINIA IS HONORED BY SHIP SAVANNAH, Ga., Oec. 5.——A former governor of Virginia and past grand master of Old Dominion Masons was honored here today, when - Liberty ship sailed down the ways bearing the name SS Jamec if Price. The vessel was christened by Mrs. Louis Ware of Winnetka, 111., and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Thomas Ware, was matron of hon or. Members of Alee temple of the Shrine here atteneded the exer cises. Price, who died in 1943. was a graduate of Washington and Lee University. He began his poltical career in 1916 when he was elected to the General Assembly of Vir ginia.
