New Wrightsville Highway INDUSTRY WIPES OUT MART LOSS NEW YORK, Dec. 28.—(fP)—The stock market turned the tables on the bears today as steels and other pivotal industrials wiped out all their losses for the previous trend. The trend reversal began at the opening and the advance rarely faltered. Closing plus marks ran to a point or so for most leaders, with a few isolated favorites jump ing as much as 10. Dealings were relatively active throughout. Short covering and reinstatement of commitments was based mainly on the more optimistic war news in addition to individual situations. Some buying was attrbuted to the belief the recent stumble had serv ed as a healthy technical correc tion. The Associated Press 60-stock average was up .5 of a point at 57.5 against a drop of as much Wednesday. It was another broad market, 919 issues appearing. Of these, 618 were up and 301 down or unchanged. Transfers of 1,232, 266 shares compared with 1,582, 845 the day before. Railway bonds improved.
