Pickard, of Wilmington Girl Seoul Christmas Luncheon Scheduled Today Al Legion Home The American Legion home, Third and Dock streets, will be the scene today of the second an nual luncheon for all adult volun teers in Girl Scouting. The leaders association and coun cil will convene at 12 o’clock for a business meeting followed by the luncheon at 1 o’clock to be served by members of the American Legion auxiliary. Mrs. Elizabeth E. Emory is chairman of arrangements and has arranged an interesting luncheon meeting. Mrs. J. Wallace West is in charge of the table decorations and Mrs. Lucile Goldberg is arranging the program, which will include instal lation of new officers of the coun cil and leaders association. Mrs. M. L. Hall, Mrs. George O. Davis, Mrs. Benton Ludwig and Mrs. W. C. Baugh are designing the place cards. Mrs. J. S. Webb, out-going commissioner, will install the of ficers. . TO EXPAND BUILDINGS PEORIA, 111., Dec. 11—(#)— Hiram Walker and Sons, Inc., an nounced today it would expand it* distillery, one of the largest in the world, by expending more than 2,500,000 for new buildings and equipment. Miss Margaret Percival Mensing Weds Gilbert Pickard In Wilmington The marriage of Miss Margaret Percival Mensing, daughter of Mrs. Annie Feagans Mensing of Richmond, Va., and John Gilbert Pickard, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eu gene Rufus Pickard of Wilmington, was solemnized Saturday, Decem ber 8, at 2 o’clock, at the Chapel of First Baptist church, Richmond, Virginia, Dr. R. Aubrey Williams officiating. The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, was at tired in a cocoa colored suit with brown accessories. She carried a prayer book with orchids. Her only ornament was a gold bracelet worn by her maternal grandmother at her wedding. The matron-of-honor and only at tendant was Mrs. Claude Alfred Mensrng, who wore a forest green wool dress with brown accessories. Her flowers were a corsage of talisman roses. The bridegroom had'as his best man Graham Walton of Wilming ton. x . The ushers were Russell Barfoot of Washington and Richmond and Dwight McEwen, ot Wilmington. Immediately following the cere mony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s mother. Out-of-town guests attending the wedding were: Mrs. Eugene Fufus Pickard, Mrs. P. B. Platt, Miss Margaret Pickard, Miss Janice Pickard, Miss Dolores Willis, of Wilmington; Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Haadlv of Farmvilie, Va., Mr. and Mrs. Everett Marsh and Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Smooth of Lynchburg, Va. After a southern wedding trip the couple will make their home in Wilmington.
