Brown, Negro, 215 E. Worth Drive Maffitt Village, was instantly killed late Friday night when a taxi he was driving was hit by a car operated by Willis James Goodman, Negro. Goodman, who lives at 12 Taylor homes, was travelling west on Chestnut at, he claims, about 25 miles per hour, when the two cars collided. The accident occured at the corner of 13th and Chestnut streets. Brown was pinned under the front end of his car and died instantly, according to E. L. Strickland, cor oner. He sustained a broken neck and a crushed chest. Goodman, also a taxi driver, is being held in jail under $1,000 bond on charges of reckless op eration of an automobile resulting in death.
