Reaves-Worley Wedding Plans Are Completed Ceremony To Be Solemnized Saturday Evening At First Baptist Church Miss Ruby Reaves and Jack T. Worley have completed plans for their wedding which is to take place at the First Baptist church, Fifth and Market street, on Satur day evening, March 16, at 8 o’clock. The Rev. Sankey Lee Blanton, D. D., pastor, will per form the ceremony. Miss Reaves will be given in marriage by her cnly brother, Charlie Reaves. Cheatham and family, of Burlington, have, during the past month, purchased the northern extension cottage at Wrightsville Beach previously belonging to E. S. Wenberg on West Henderson street. Dolores and “Buck” Cheatham with their attractive young lady daughter, Dolores, and their son, Billy, a col lege student, have been valuable additions to the fashionable resort’s social contingent for a number of seasons, and by the acquisition of this summer home, they have indicated their preference for Wrights ville Beach as the perfect vacation spot, as well as signifying their intention of making it their permanent seasonal abode. Mrs. Cheatham is the former Dolores Holt, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Following a brief business trip, Mr. Allen will return t0 the city. Mrs. Allen will spend a monfe in Kirksville, Mo., with her sister, after which her sister will accom pany her to Wilmington for an ex tended stay. Marmaduke has a host of friends in the city, having lived here for a number of years prior to 1930. William L. Kolb i Miss Margaret Lucille Sparks, daughter of Mrs. William Spurgeon Sparks of Mars Hill and Asheville, and the late William Spurgeon Sparks, became the bride of Lt. William Payton Kolb, Army Medi cal Corps, son of Dr. and Mrs. A. Z. Kolb of Little Rock, Arkansas, in a ceremony solemnized yester iay afternoon at 5 o’clock at the rabernacle Baptist Church, Raleigh. The double ring ceremony was berformed b y the Rev. Nano Starnes, of Asheville, and Dr. F. I»rion Mixon of Raleigh. The vows were spoken before a background of palms and fern. 3askets of white gladioli and snap iragons were interspersed with ;even branched candelabra holding ighted tapers. Preceding the ceremony a pro gram of nuptial music can listing of “O Thou Sublime’’, ‘Calm As The Night” and ‘To a Vild Rose” was rendered by Mrs. L J. Sutter, organist. The traditional wedding marches were used for the proces sional and recessional. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, William Spurgeon Sparks. Her dress was of duchess satin with a marquisette yoke, out lined with Chantilly lace which fell into a beautiful bertha. The sleeves fitted at the hand with a ruffle of matching lace. The bodice fitted in to a princess line fastened with covered buttons, and a full length train of satin extended from the waist. The veil was made into a coronet of Chantilly lace and the imported French illusion veil fell from back of the crown in full length of her dress. She carried a cascade bouquet of white bridal roses centered with a white purole throated orchids. Miss Marie Sparks, Furman uni versity, Greenville, S. C., sister of the bride, was Maid of Honor and Mrs. LeRoy Benedict of Fort Worth, Texas, served as Matron of-honor. Bridesmaids were Misses Mary Lou Wall,.
