Most of those penalized have fin ished Iheir disciplinary terms and are not back at work, the com pany said. They were among 13,000 Gener al Motors workers who joined an estimated 60,000 union sympathiz ers in a giant rally in downtown Cadillac square to protest pending congressional labor legislation. The demonstration halted pro duction in a number of auto plants although 24,000 other General Mo tors employes kept most of that firm’s operations going. Both the Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler corp. Issued pre-rally warnings against employes leav ing work. However, General Mo tors was tire only major producer to announce actual disciplining of workers.
