Lb. <?|f _ ■ Tomato Surprise Broadcast: July 5,1947 1 tablespoons finely cut onion 2 tablespoons hot shortening y4 cup flout . 1 teaspoon salt few Brains pepper No. 2 can tomatoes* y2 cup Pet Milk 8 crisp bacon slices Cook onion slowly 5 min. in shorten ing. Blend in flour, salt and pepper. Stir in tomatoes. Boil slowly and stir 5 min. Heat milk to boiling. Remove tomato mixture and milk from heat. Stir tomato mixture into hot milk. Do not heat after combining. Serve hot on toast topped with bacon. Serves 4 ★To use peeled, cut-up fresh toma toes, increase amount to 254 cups and cook. 10 minutes.
