S. | Naval reserve training ship PC 777 slid up to the customs house dock in > Wilmington yesterday morning to finish the first half of its 'initial week-end cruise. After its officers and crew were feted at a barbeque yes terday afternoon and a dance last night, the ship was being made ready early today for the return trip that will put it back in port in Georgia at sunrise tomorrow morning. The ship’s complement plans cruises along the coast this fall to other ports, but paid Wilm ington tribute by selecting it for the first visit. City and county dignitaries, including Mayor Evlie L. White, City Manager James R. Benson, Addison Hewlett, chairman of the board of county commission ers, L. E. Voss, shipyard super intendent, Ed Snead, VFW state commander, Lieut. Henry Bost, district representative of the U. S. Naval Reserve, and Council man J. E. L. Wade, were among those greeting officers and crew at the dock yesterday morning. The PC-777 is commanded by Cdr. A. S. Boyce. Its entire crew and the officers are from Savannah. Only person not from the Georgia port on board was Fred Moon, city editor of the Atlanta Journal.
