Hollis yesterday refused to comment on a demand by the Wilmington Board of Realtors that his board rescind its action continuing controls here, saying that he would wait until he had the Realtors’ resolutions before him before commenting. Claiming that there is no hous ing shortage in Wilmington, the realtors said that there is no need for a continuation of ceiling prices on rents here. They said that continuation of R. Asking for a public hearing on decontrol to be held on the “earliest possible” date, the real tors pointed out that there are a large number of housing units in Wilmington now being rented at figures below the . ceiling prices and that there are others now on the market for rent. This would indicate, they said, that free competition would do the job of keeping rent prices in line without continuation of gov ernment imposed controls. The realtors also contested the action of the local control board in continuing controls, which ac tion was announced from Wash ington, D. C., several days ago when approved by the National Housing expediter. They contend ed that the board’s action was taken without knowledge and presence of all of its members (Realtor Fred Willetts, a mem-j ber, has said that he did not knowj about the meeting). They also, said that the board took action without a promised public hear ing on the matter. Kenneth Marshall was named to succeed Willetts Of president] of the Realtors baarv. Richard A. Shew was elected to succeed Hugh Morton ss vice-president. W. A. Fonvi* re, Jr., succeeds Marshall as secretary-treasurer. Elected to the board of direct ors were Willetts, W. G. J^'-nes and Harris Ligon. Officers are also board memoers.
