At the preliminary meeting of the Talmud Torah Community Center com mittee, which met on Friday last at the Elks club, it decided to obtain, if pos sible, the services of Miss Julia Felsen thal as supervisor of the Talmud Torah Community Center as soon as the work in the center is started. It is the plan of the Talmud Torah to have all organ izations in the city co-operate with them and that ways and means to further the work commence at once. Ner Tamid Notes. At the last meeting held by the Ner Tamid club, the election of officers took place, and plans for the year's work were discussed. The following 'officers were elected: President, Miss Rose Labovitz vice president, Miss Edith Abrahams recording secretary, Miss Julia Dloo gatch corresponding secretary, Miss Dorothy Ackerman and treasurer, Miss Rose Rudick. The board of directors consists of the following: Miss Jennie Feinberg, Helen Benjamin, Lilian Litin, and the officers. Hatikvah Notes. At the open meeting held on Tuesday evening last, Mrs. N. Erb, who served for nine months with the American Red Cross in France, gave a very interesting talk on the work of the Red Cross over seas. She emphasized the great organ izing power of the American Red Cross and its effective work, and also related her personal experiences. The Hatikvah girls' Hadassah Unit for the purpose of sewing garments for the destitute children of Palestine, will meet regularly every second, third and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Atlas club rooms, Lyndale and Sixth avenues north, to sew. All members are urged to come and sew. At the last meeting plans were made to give a novelty dance in the near fu ture, the date to be decided later. Gymnasium Class Reopens. In view of the fact that the "flu" ban Ion schools has been lifted, the gymna sium class which 'has been conducted on Tuesday evenings at the Sumner school, iwill reopen January 7th. The season will fee extended to make up for lost time. !The fees are 75 cents for the term, con sisting of ten lessons, and all those inter 'ested can either call Miss Rose Share, Hyland 6202, or report at the Sumner ischool gymnasium, Bryant and Sixth avenues north, on Tuesday evening, 7:30 p. m. Miss Marguirita Kahn, physical instructor at West High school, has charge of the class. Dr. Mabel Ulrich to Address Organization. Tke Y. W. H. A. has been fortunate in obtaining Dr. Mabel Ulrich to address the organization at an open meeting, Wednesday evening, January 15th, at 8 i!p. m. The Deborah society will give the sec ond of its series of card parties and dances on Sunday afternoon, January 12th, at the Gymal Doled club, 11 West ern avenue. An interesting program has been arranged and everbody is assured a good time. The Deborahs will have their first "sewing meet" for Hadassah on Monday evening, January 13th, in the vestry rooms of the Adath Yeshurun Syna gogue, Ninth street and Twelfth avenue south, 7:30 sharp. All interested are invited to come and help in the good cause. Come and do your bit for Hadassah. The regular meeting of the Y. M. H. A. will be Monday, 8:00 p. m., at its club rooms. Important business con cerning the future policy of the organ ization will be under consideration. Talmud Torah to Conduct Graduation Exercises. The graduation exercises of the Beth Hammidrash graduates of the Talmud Tora'h will be held on Sunday evening, January the twelfth, at eight o'clock, at the Talmud Torah auditorium, Fremont and Eighth avenues north. The follow ing program will be given. The opening address by Dr. G. J. Gordon prayer by Rabbi S. M. Silber invocation by Rabbi J. L. Seltzer addresses by Mr. A. N. Bearman and Mr. N. Waisbren.
