Ben Gurion Calls
For Destruction
Of‘A’ Weapons

ons in a note by Premier Da
vid Ben Gurion to Soviet Pre
mier Nikita S. Khrushchev,
it was learned here.
There is an Olympic-sized pool, staffed by
highly-rated water safety instructors, and
kept up to strictest health specifications.
There are gay, colorful ramadas, picnic area
facilities, games and a snack bar ready to
serve you with wholesome food at low cost.

Offering Outstanding
Summer Youth Program
One of the city’s most outstanding youth programs—
the Trailblazers —will open June 9 at the Tucson Jewish
Community Center.
The nine-week program directed by Ed Jones offers a
wide variety of exciting adventure for youngsters 11 to 14
years.
One day of the program
will be set aside for western
activities, including horse
back riding on old Indian
trails, a cookout with mes
quite fires and biscuits baked
in the open and an Indian
folklore program.
THERE WILL be weekly
trips to Bear Canyon, Sabino
Canyon, Colossal Cave, Rose
Canyon, Sahuaro National
Park, Madera Canyon, Old
Tucson and the Arizona-So
nora Museum.
And something new has
been added to the Trailblazer
program this summer. It is a
Do-It-Yourself program in
which youngsters will help
build rock gardens and cactus
gardens and ramadas. There
also will be a variety of sports
including archery, volleyball,
basketball, swimming instruc
tion, bowling, plus arts and
crafts and chess and checker
tournaments.
A tween canteen will be
open on Wednesday evenings
to the Trailblazers.
Added to the Trailblazer
staff have been Mrs. Anne
Sandell and Charles R. Beals.
Free Swimming
Course Offered
A free swimming course
will be offered at the Center,
announces Keith Meenan,
aquatic director.
From June 2-6 a water
safety course will be given
from 5-7 p.m. for boys and
girls over 14 years.

And the Center’s swim program offers train
ing for the beginning swimmer and for the
advanced swimmer, for the adult as well as
the youth. And this summer there are new
evening hours to enable business men to en
joy a cool, relaxing time after they close their
shops and leave their desks.
