Notice of Mortgage Sale Notice is hereby given. That default has been made in the conditions of a certain mortgage, containing a power of sale, executed by Edward P. Elliott, mortgagor, to Van Sant Investment Company, mortgagee, dated the 2oth day of June 1913 and recorded in the office of the Register of Deeds of Deeds of Itasca County, State of Min nesota, on the 28th day of June 1913 at 10:30 A. M. in Book V of Mtgs on page 411, and recorded in the office of the Register of Deeds of St. Louis County on the 10th day of July 1913 at 8:30 A. M. in Book 241 of Mtgs on page 283 thereof, and said mortgagee has ex ercised the option reserved to the hold er of said note and mortgage by the terms thereof, and has declared the entire sum immediately due and pay able, and there is due and payable at the date of this notice upon said mort gage and the debt thereby secured the sum of seven hundred forty-nine and 48|100 dollars and no action or pro ceeding has been instituted to recover the debt secured by said mortgage or any part thereof; And therefore. Notice is hereby given that on July 16, 1917, at 10 o’clock a. m. in the of fice of the county auditor at Grand Rapids, Itasca county. In the State of Minnesota, I will offer for sale certain unsold state lands and also those state lands which have reverted to the state by reason of the non-payment of in terest. TERMS OF SALE Fifteen per cent of the purchase price is payable to the county treasurer at the time of sale. The unpaid balance is payable at any time in whole or in part on or before forty years from the date of sale at an interest rate of four per cent per annum due on June first of each year; provided, that the inter est can be paid at any time within the interest year without penalty. In ef fect, this means that the Interest money may be paid any time between June first and May thirty-first with out penalty. Appraised value of timber, when so stated, must be paid for in full at the time of sale. All mineral rights are reserved to the state by the laws of the state. All lands are sold subject to any and all ditch taxes thereon. Lands on which the interest has be come delinquent may be redeemed at any time up to the hour of sale, or be fore resale, to the actual purchaser. Such lands are listed under the cap tion: "Delinquent Lands.” Na person can purchase more than 320 «u>res of land as provided by the General Laws 1905; provided, however, that state lands purchased previous to 1905 is not charged against such pur chaser. The minutes of the meeting held May 26 were read and approved. Motion made to employ W. O. Ander son as principle for the Cohasset school for the ensuing year at a salary of $1,000.00 per year. Mather of Duluth, enter tained his niece, Miss Ruth Mather and nephew, Wm. G. Mather, Jr. of Fayelleville, Ark., with a trip through this vicinity. Mr. Mather has a home stead on Hanson lake. Butterfield’s father and mother who have been visiting here, left for their home in Caledonia, N. D. on Wednesday. A community picnic was given at Shallow lake on Sunday. The picnic was given at the Strohl place. Over sixty ate dinner. Warba will not celebrate July fourth this year. This is the first time in a good many years that there has been no celebration here. Miss Lillian Swanson of Duluth and her sister, Mrs. Ingstrom of Proctor, came on Tuesday and visited their mother, Mrs. Nels Nelson until Sat urday. The McGuire lake club met with Mrs. C. Rima on Thursday afternoon. Two teams took the ladies out from town. The next meeting will be with Mrs. Wesley Pogue. A surprise party was given Miss Jennie Martinson at her home on Fri day evening. The party was given in honor of her seventeenth birthday. The Sunday school class of which she is a member assisted in entertaining the guests. Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Hall gave a party on Saturday night in honor of their daughter Irene, of Cheuela, Washing ton, who is spending the summer here. There was a large number of guests who spent a delightful evening. Mrs. Aaron Johnson entertained the Cradle roll of the Union Sunday school on Friday afternoon. She was assist ed by Miss Alida Holmes who is super intendent of the school and Nevt Cor rell who is superintendent of the Cradle roll.
