THESE Bitters arc purely a vegetable aim pound, and are offered to the public from principle of benevolence, under the flllltst convic tion that they *ill lie tollm! A siitb and sovereign 'emcdy for Dyspepsia. They have been trium ihantly tested, not only by some of tho most re pectahle families and physicians in the State of <outh Carolina, who have furnished ample testi nony aa to their decidod excellence, but also by the proprietor, who, for ten years, suffered all the gloom incident to that stubborn and distressing disease. They possess the peculiar excellence, denied to most other Bittera, of not proving injurious by con tinucd use. They contain not a single deleterious ingredient, and, aa seen from the directions which accompany each bottle, may be given with cntirt safety to an infant in the month. With pleasure, and for the benefit of mankind, I send you a certificate relative to the Colleton Bit tera. In the year 1838, when the cholera was in Charleston, S. C., I was compelled to send a servant to the city. On his return, he was suddenly attack ed with most violent pnin in his bowels, so much so as to cause apprehension that he would expire in a short time, if meJical aid could not be procured. 1 immediately resorted to the Colleton Bitters, by giv ing a wine glass full at a dose. In the course of a very short lime It acted as an emetic, and throwing him at the same lime into a profuse perspiration. 1 then continued to give it in small doses, from two to three tea spoonsfull, which resulted in a happy re covery. Since then I have been using it constantly in my family, in cases of cholera morbus, cholera infantum, dianhcaa and general debility, and in every instance found it highly beneficial. Some constitutions, however, require much larger doses than others. JOS. D. JENKINS. Bh'fflon, S. Pif 184?. It is with fesdlnr- of latitude as well as pleasure that I take this method of giving my testimony of the great estimation which I enteilaui f?r your in valuable compound. In justice not only to tho me dicine, but for the lienefii of others who may be suf fering trom the same malady, l>yspepsia, with which I was for years afflicted, I feel it a duty incumlieni on me to stale that I am now restored to perfect health. When I commenced taking tho Colleton Bitters it was sa a last resort. My debility from in digestion was so great that a cure was looked u^n ns almost hopeless. After taking it regularly and perseveringly for some time, my strength and di gestive powers were entirely restored. 1 have never taken a single dose of smy other medicine for more then five yearn past. I can now est the richest food without any unpleasant feelings whatever. I have also used Colleton Bitters freely in my family lor cholera 11 font fin, cholrra morl/ui, Renersl debility, and as a tonic after fever, with great eucces?. As a family medicine I deem it invaluable, and do con scientiously recommend it A. Me Ks 81. John's ColUton. C-, December, 1845. For sale by the only Agent tor the District ol Columbia. ??
