God, in hie infinite wisdom, has deemed It wisest and best to remove from our midst our beloved sister and co-worker, Miss Isabel Brooker, who tell asleep on August 13, 1920. For many years Miss Brooker was connected with the* Swansea Baptist church and missionary society and at all times was true to every activity ot the kingdom. While we miss her, we recognise divine wisdom and be lieve, where we can not know, that in his own good time, God's plan will unfold sublime and light and joy shall have their way. Be it, there fore, Resolved first, that In the passing of this one we have lost a true friend - and a devoted member of the wo man’s missionary society. Second, that we extend our heart felt sympathy to the bereaved fami ly. Third, that we cherish her life, beautiful and unselfish as it was, and ever hold it as a worthy example for us to follow. - Fourth, that a copy of these res- , olutions be published In The Baptist Courier, a copy sent to the family, and a page in our minute book be lnscrllbed to her memory. On October 17, 1920, as ' the shades of evening gathered around our door, the death angel visited our midst and took from us our beloved sister, Miss Astelia Posey. In love and wisdom our heavenly Father has seen fit to take her to where joys immortal flow. She leaves two sis ters,. Miss Elizabeth Posey and Mrs. John Derrick, to mour her death. Resolved, first, that while our hearts are saddened because she is no longer in our midst, yet we meek ly bow in submission to his will, knowing that her suffering is ended and that she has entered upon the rest which remaineth to the children of God. 2. The Philipi woman’s mission ary society and Sunday school has lost one of its most faithful mem bers. 2. Williams, Mrs. Lucy Lee, Miss Maud Holmes, Mrs. Mary Cullum. . Mrs. Emma Hair Flckling. ' Mrs. Emma Hair Fickling, wife of Of. ■ F. Flckllng, entered into rest ui the sixty-seventh year of her age. She was born near Blacksvllle, S. C.-, in 1853. Early in life she united with the Blackville Baptist church, of which she was a faithful and devot ed member. Only July 28th, 192a, Ood in his all-wise providence saw fit to remove her from earth to heav en. Rev. W. M. Jones and Rev. O. J. Frier conducted the funeral servi ces at the Blackville cemetery, amid a large crowd of relatives and sym pathizing friends. We miss her cheerful presence when our misisonary society meets, for she was always there. Resolved, that we cherish the mem ory of her Christian life, and noble Character; that a page in onr minute book be ascrimed to her memory; a copy of these resolutions be publish ed In The Baptist Courier.
