Howard Matthews recently returned from Colville, Wash,, and has accepted employment with the forest service. He was formerly forest ranger at Warland. He is now employed in Libby ranger's office. The trip was made in Mrs. La Munyan's new auto. Lamar Rowland left Tuesday evening j for Hollywood to spend two weeks | there as the guest of James Cagney, I well known movie star. As announced in this paper several weeks ago, Lamar won the trip for having written the best poem in a national contest last 1 winter. Besides- the entertainment he will enjoy, he is also to be given a screen test while there, and possibly a chance to play a minor part in a movie. Trego News Items Mrs. Walter Ritter was most pleas antly surprised at an "old fashioned quilting party" on Wednesday after noon, June 21, given by Miss Evelyn McAllister and Miss Leonore Ritter. Mrs. Ritter was the recipient of many beautiful blocks which were placed together and some quilting done by most of the ladies present. Mrs. Ritter was much pleased with her lovely gift and said she never ex pected such thoughtfulness to be : shown her.
