LEWISTON. This coming metropolis is located in the sheltered valley of Snake river, at the head waters of navigation. It is the natural outlet to the land-locked empire behind it. The country tribu tary contains empires. FRUIT. Lewiston lies at the center of the great fruit growing regions. Thousands of tons of fruit are now ripening In this sunny clime. The fertile valleys of the Clearwater and the Snake can be easily irrigated and produce abundantly. MINERALS Are found in the camps of Salmon river, Ori Fina, Elk City, Pierce City, Florence and Warrens. The richest unexplored mineral regions in the west lie tributary to this point Their sup plies are furnished by our merchants. Their ore is shipped from here. TIMBER. The Clearwater reaches back into the great timber regions of the Bitter Boot Bage. Millions of feet of the finest timber known can be floated here at slight cost Lewiston is the only mark et for this vast timber region. Locked in by the deep canyons of the Snake and the Clearwater rivers are agricultural and grazing lands equal to any the world. A million bushels of grain will pass through Lewiston to market this year. Thousands of head of cattle are fattening on the ranges behind us. INDIAN RESERVATION« The great Nez Perce Reservation Joins the city. Soon more than 500,000 acres of fine lands will be thrown open to homesteaders. The allotment of the lands to the Indians is now being made. RAILROADS AND IMPROVEMENTS. Two railroads are now In process of construction. Hundreds of men are employed. A plant for a Water and Light company coating $50,000 will be erected this season. Vast irrigating ditches are to be constructed. Land has doubled in value in three months.
