Mrs. Marie Conkwright in wbito with Grecian sanduls and a mink cape was a picture of elegant sim plicity as she entered the Metro politan Opera House. For the opening of the Ballet Basse de Monte Carlo, Mrs. Allan A. Ryan, Jr., topped her taffeta evening gown with A mink cape to make a luxurious contrast. A toll length ermine wrap stamp ed the evening ensemble of Mrs. J. J. Eller, daughter of former President Calles of Mexico, as ono of luxurious beauty Miss Ann Shelley of South street was guest of honor at a grocery shower given on Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. John Kerwin During the evening a varied pro gram of entertainment was enjoyed. Murphy, member of the Russell grammar school faculty, spoke on her recent trip In the West at a meeting of the West Side Hill Young People’s society Saturday night. A business session followed Miss Murphy’s address. Miss Katherine Costello of East Main street has returned after spending the week end In New York. Mr. and Mrs. W. Shirley Pulton of Hillside avenue spent the week end at Fisher’s Island. Miss Evelyn Grierson of Cooke street has returned after spending the past few days in New York.
