The story behind the flame
thrower, one of the most potent of
weapons for reducing enemy strong
points, will be dramatized on the
Army Service Forces ‘‘Weapons for
Victory,” in its broadcast Thursday,
March 28, at 5 p. m„ over CBS Sta
tions. Fire has been used for cen
turies as a weapon, but never with
the deadly effectiveness reached in
this war, in which flame throwers
approach the accuracy of a rifle, and

day through Friday. Yes, once again
it’s Jerry Mann, the new comedian
all radio is talking about. So, for
tonight’s listening pleasure, tune in
on your NBC station and “Make
Merry With Mann." Perry Como,
singing sensation of the year, will
do the new hit number, "I Had A
Little Talk With The Lord.’’ Ted
Steele and his Men about Music

The annual Easter music by the
Kraft Choral Society will be the
program highlight of Bing Crosby’s
Kraft Music Hall airshow for to
night, at 9:00 p ,m .over NBC. The
Choral Society will be heard from
Chicago.
Among the choral selections will
be Victor Herbert's patriotic and
sacred ode, “God Shall Guide Us."
The ode was composed by Herbert in
1918 at the time the German tide
was being turned back for the final
time. The selection was chosen both
for its historical parallel and the
fact, a few months ago a KMH lis
tener, Robert Bartlett of New York
City, made the suggestion. It was
later learned Mr. Bartlett’s wife is
Victor Herbert’s daughter. The
musical performance of “God Shall
Guide Us” will mark its debut over
the airwaves. The Choral Society
will also sing, ’ Spring Bursts To
day.’’

substituting for a fighter in a char
ity boxing match, the fun begins on
NBC's "Joan Davis with Jack Haley
Show” Thursday, March 39, at 9:30
