It has now spread among the Russian settlements. Vaccination is unheard of in the entire Russian army. DISEASE DECIMATING- RUSSIAN ARMY (Special Dispatch to Daily Alaskan.) St. Petersburg. .March, 3 ? Pneumonia and bronchitis are claiming many thousands of the Russian troops as victims. Many are dying and others are being reduced so as to be unfit for service. A similar ex{>erience is being met with frost bites. Many of the troops in Siberia are frost bitten so badly that they have become an incumbrance and a source of weakness to the army rather than a source of strength. She saiied from Seattle last Sunday morning and made remarkable time on the northbound trip, overtakiug and passing the Cottage City which sailed the day before, at Millbank sound.
