GOOD SHOW
Ku?x Entertainment Exceeds
Highest Expectations
The entertainment last night in the
Methodist church was well attended and
its merit exceeded the highest expecta
tions. Knox is an impersonator of rare
gifts, and for nearly two hours he
swayed the audience at will and storn.
after storm of applause greeted his
masterly performances.
Different characters were represent
ed. but it i9 hard to say in which he ex
celled. He commenced with the coun
try store and ended with a debating
society in New Hampshire. The latter
was an exceedingly difficult piece in
which a dozen characters were repre
sented, and its rendition required )5
minutes. It was so perfect and unique
that it should be repeated in his next
entertainment. The love affair of Ole
Oleson will not be forgotten soon.
At the close of the entertainment Dr. ;
Parsons read a letter of endor>ement
for Mr. Knox from Gen. Kunston, re
marking that it expressed the senti
ments of all present.
Mr. Knox will remain in the city un
til next Tuesday, and Monday evening
he will appear again in the Methodist
church with an entire change of pro
gram.
