Be it ordained by the common council of the town of Sksgway: That there be and hereby is granted to Northwest Light & l'owvr Company, j a corporation, a franchise for the term of i firtv (50) years from and after January 1, to construct operate and maintain an electric system in the town of Skag way, for the purpose of furnishing electric current for light, heat ami power, and to that end to enter in ami upon streets, alleys and public places of said town, to erect its |>oles at such place or places as it may see tit, and run its wires aiong such streets, alleys snd public placer, as it may see lit, subject always to the present or future regula tions of the common council of s?id town concerning poles and wirrs for tho transmission of electric current: to f"r nish the Inhabitants of said town or any person who may desire the same with electric current for the production or use of light, heal or power, and to charge compensation therefor.
