girl, aged 14 years, was killed Saturday
by an Indian boy aged 16. The boy
has been arrested.

out delay? Mikado's approval of peace
agreement leads to the change of base

Portsmouth, Sept. 8? The Japanese envoys have agreed to an immediate armistice.
The receipt of news late yesterday afternoon that the mikado had approved of the peace
terms that had l>een arranged lead to the acceptance of this provision.
JAPAN AND RUSSIA STILL WRANGLING
Portsmouth, Sept. 2 ? There is a disagreement between the Japanese and Russian
diplomats over the fortifications on Sakhalin island. They were not regarded in the fir*t
agreement. Japan t-lains those in the south half of the island, which falls to that coun
try in the peace agreement.
