Conrad City, Sept. 16? A mass meet
ins of the t rospectors and miners of
Conrad City held Friday evening for
the purpose of showing their apprecia
tion of the work accomplished for this
camp by Robert Lowe, was highly en
thusiastic from beginning to finish.
Several speeches were made by highly
pleased prospectors, miners and mine
operators, showing iu detail the im
mediate benefits derived for the young
camp through the tireless efforts and
work of Mr. Lowe in the Yukon coun
J. H. Conrad, the financial man of
the camp, in a happy strain, among
other interesting statements, said that
development work on the Honanza
group would have been suspended for
the season had it not been for tha roads
built and other timely assistance ren
dered by the Yukon government. He
also stated that during all his ex per
ieno as a mining man in the develop
ment of different camps he had never
received such loyal support or aid as
had been given this camp at the oppor
tune moment by the Yukon council
through the untiring efforts of Council
man Lowe. He closed by saying that
in a short time as a producer, this
camp will be second to cone.
; The meeting was closed by a charac
teristic and inimi'able address by the
! mayor, B. Jerome McGee, in which
three hearty cheers and a rousing tiger
were given Robert Lowe, Conrad City
and the new camp.
