A mass 'meeting of the ear-drivers was held ' in the City Hall Park last night, i when a series of resolutions was adopted, expressing a determination not to return to work until the ad vance asked for was given. Speeches were delivered by Messrs. Corcoran, j McMastera, Frederick T. Cozzens, and others, and several -donations of money were received from sympathiz ing friends. Thirty-six conductors were dis charged from the Seventh Avenue line yesterday for refusing to act as drivers. - ' Two assaults on the new drivers were made, one of them being slightly wounded in the leg. Considerable rioting occurred along the line of the Third Avenue routes ; one driver supposed killed. Torpe does wexe placed on the track at a late hour last night, which exploded as a car was passing over it. Car very much damaged, and passengers nar rowly escaped.
