Another I'ntrttivo Slave Case. On Thursday afternoon nn alleged fugitive stave was brought ta the U. S. Marshal s of fice. in Philadelphia, who hatl been arrested While at work as a hod Carrier, on the Ridge Road, near Poplar street, at the instance of his master, Thomas P. Jones, of Cecil coun ty, Maryland. The name ol the alleged alave is Henry (Jamielt. He appears to be about twenty five or twenty-seven years ot age, anil has been absent from hn master for eight years, lie was accompanied by a young man ol his own color, who desired ilial he nnghi hate counsel, which request was granted. The wairanl tor llie arrest of toe slave was issued by Jostire Oner, and the right of ownership and identity of the person was heard by him, rue Philadelphia Times aay*:—The right of properly in Henry (launet was traced through several wills to the present master, Tlioa. P. Junes. His identity was about to he esiablished by Mr. Jones and others, when Mr. Tierce, for the prisoner, asked that the rase be |>oslponed until n future period, to allow nn opportunity 10 Charles Gibbius as rounsel. Judge Orier said that gliis was, to tie sure a summary proceeding, yet he desired in give rhe prisoner an opportunity to be prop erly detended, and if he proceeded in a sum mary manner, it would be owing to the ill advice the colored |ieople were now receiv ing. lie said he had read in I lie papers of meetings being held, at which resolutions were passed advising and urging the colored race to arm themselves against the laws, and shoot down the officers ot the law. II such advice should be taken, the first officer killed would be the signal for the extermi nation of the black race. All laws, he thought would be set at defiance, as they had been but a short time since. He was as much a friend to the unfortu nate race ns any man, but he looked upon white men who would advise aimed re sistance 10 the laws, as the colored peoples worst enemies. If he were to adjourn tins ease until tins day, he felt satisfied that thous ands of Macks would assemble, per tiaps, to resist the laws. Tltis would compel him to send to the Navy Vard for their uhole mili tary force, and as true n* Uod liveth. and my soul iivclti, said the Judge, 1 will maintain! the laws, though 1 have to order every man w lio put hiruselt in armed opposition to its execution, lo tie shot down. I will execute the law as I find it, at all hazards. It was litre suggested that the laws of Pennsylvania made it illegal to place the prisoner in any ol iis prisons. Tlie Marshal agreed lo keep the alledged slave until this dao. Tire Judge said that if any mobslnm’.l congregate —til ick or while—with a view lo resist the laws, it would he repelled, even lo the shedding of Mood. The hearing of the case was then postponed until next morning, when the man was discharged. PkUadrlylua }>nprr. Melancholy Shipwreck. We find the above in the New York papers of Monday, and Boston papers of Tuesday ev ening There is evidently a mistake some where, the A . having been previously reported at Gorginti, a port on the south side or Sicilv, Sept. 17.
