I suffered from fe male trouble so I could not stand on my feet and I felt like millions of needles were prick ing me all over. At last my doctor told me that all that would save me was an operation, but t.his T rpfinaor? T told my husband to get me a bottle of Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Com pound and I would try it before I would submit to any operation. He did so and I improved right along. I am now doing all my work and feeling fine. "I hope other suffering women will try your Compound. I will recommend, it 1 to all I know." Mrs. Daniel D. B. Davis, 110 Franklin St. , Logansport, Ind. Since we guarantee that all testimo nials which we publish are genuine, is it not fair to suppose that if Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound has the virtue to help these women it will help any other woman who is suffering in a like manner ? If you are ill do not drag along until an operation is necessary, but at once take Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound. Write to Xydia E. Pinkham Medicine Co., (confidential) Lynn, Mass. George Gosch, 16 years old, employed at the sum mer home of L. J. Phelps, a New York lawyer, put to flight three armed burglars who had been ransacking the home, after a sharp revolver fus illade late last night. The thieves got away with some cash and a small amount of other goods, but they were forced to drop a bag of silverware and to abandon the Phelps automobile Which they had taken from the gar age. The Phelps family is away and no definite estimate of the amount taken is available. Gosch was asleep in his room in the house when the burglars moving about awakened him. He could not leave his room withdut being seen, but as soon as the robbers went out of the house to the garage, Gosch took a revolver and going '.to the veranda opened fire on them from behind a post. The robbers had the automobile out of the garage and were about to get into it, when a shot from Gosch's revolver struck the machine. The robbers returned the fire, one of the bullets striking the post behind which Gosch stood. There was a further exchange of shots and then the rob bers broke and ran dropping the bag of silverware in their flight. STREET WORK CONTINUES. Church Street Pavement Will Be Completed in Short Time. Work of laying the new concrete top pavement on Church street be tween Stanley street and the railroad crossing is progressing rapidly and already almost half of the stretch is completed. The pavement has a smooth surface and .will offer a wel come improvement over the old con ditions. The entire job will be com pleted in a short time. This new pavement, however, will not continue to the tracks but will end 100 feet below. The reasons for this are that it is probable that before long the Union Manufacturing com pany will need to rip up the street to make connections, and inasmuch as the hill is quite steep the smooth sur face of the pavement would make It too slippery for safety.
