Rouillard-Linton camp, Soldiers, Sail

meeting of that organization last eve

to 15 inclusive in the state 'armory on
Arch street and the boys announce
that it is their aim to make it the best
event of its kind this season. Dancing
and entertainment will' be;, furnished
every evening with plenty of booth;?
to attract those 'with a desire for dolls,
candy, sugar and so forth. A cash
prize of J130 will be awarded and a
building lot will be given away. The
proceeds of the fair will go towards
a building fund., it is announced..

activity in the army in the New Eng
land States which were not previous
ly under his command and until this
is cleared .away and in smooth run
ning order he feels it will be impos
sible for him to leave the immediate
vicinity of Boston.
However,, much he wishes to be
with you in person he is forced to say
that he is with you in spirit and he
feels confident that in this enterprise
and endeavor you will "carry on" as
you did "over there," and it is this
thought that prompts him hinj to say
that he trusts1 he may have the pleas
ure of being w ith you on a later date.

tion of trading on the stock exchange
after the double holiday was marked,
by a. number of severe declines and
a few advances. The early reaction
was chiefly attributed to last week's
unfavorable showing of local federal
bajik reserves, which fell to a low
record, and renewed weakness of for
eign exchange. "Within the lirst half
hour losses' of 2 to S points were
ma-do by G-eneral Motors, Crucible
Steel, Republic Iron, Baldwin Loco,
American Woolen and Royal Dutch.

however, lost two points.

losses of 2 to 6 points during the

der lead of St. Paul common and pre
ferred, and Baltimore & Ohio.
Wall Street, Close. Leaders, espe
cially motors, oils and steels, fell to
the day's lowest prices in the final
hour, shorts meeting with little oppo
sition in their further attacks. The
close was weak. Sales approximated
1,200,000 shares.

Census Returns Must
Be In By March 1st.
The ensus enumeration is rapidly
uearing completion, the country dis
tricts now'heink the- only localities to
be heard from. Census Supervisor
Thomas J. Smith has sent word to all
enumerators who have not completed
their enumeration to send word in to
him as to how long they expect it will
be before they will have their port
folios completed. Mr. Smith has re
ceived word from- Washington -that a
report on the matter must be sent in
by March 1. A number of calls are
received by Mr. Smith daily request
ing the population of this city. Thisi
cannot be given. Mr. Smith explained,"
as he ha no knowledge -of -the num
ber of people. residing Ihm-p as he did
not add the totals of th census
sheets am! besides he would not he
permitted to give uiit any figures.
