The petition on the proposed larg er dispatch house at Central park to be built by the Connecticut Co., was opposed by Commissioner John Olton at a meeting of the board of public works last evening. A com promise was reached whereby City Engineer Joseph I. Williams will confer with Supt. Bryan of the com puny relative to making the struc ture a temporary house to take care of the company's employee during the winter months. When the matter was brought up for discussion by Acting-Chairman Williams, Mr. Olson Immediately de clared himself against giving per. mission. Permission subject to approval of 'he building commission was granted the New Britain Co-operative asso ciation to move a house from Vance street to Monroe street. It was vot ed to grant Paul Zehl'r the contract for the shingling of an employes' house at the sewer beds.
