Auction lor $27
Tslng the Rotary club plan of auc
tion in order to finance the cost of
entertainment at a social and get-
together of Blue army men and their
wives last evening, the Blue army of
Everyman's Bible class sold a foun
tain pen and pencil set for $27. The
set was auctioned off by Dave Young
Scotch comedtan, and was sold to
Mrs. Carl Groth of Brook street.
The activities of the Blue army
within the past two weeks have at
tracted the attention of the entire
class and last night's meeting was
one of the most successful ever held.
The meeting opened with an over
ture by the E. B. C orchestra fol
lowed by prayer by Rev. G. H.
Schneck of the German Baptist
church and chaplain of the White
army. There was group singing led
by Elmer H. Nodlne, the. army song
leader. Music by the orchestra, con
certina solos by Joe Kazxinl, cornet
solos by Miss Anna Howerth, vocal
solos by Mrs. Howard E. Horton and
Harry Lauder character Impersona
tions by Dave Young.
An address o n"Organlzation" was
given by request by Rev. William H.
Alderson. The general of the Blue
army reported on the meeting with
the ministers and the move for a
more definite program for the claas.
He also reported on the activities of
the army for the past two weeks.
The meeting closed with nn an
nouncement by General William C.
Hotchkiss of the White army of ft
hsnciuot to be held November 24.

One of the outstanding features
of the army program and which oc
rasioned surprise was the. statement
that the army will have a Christ

for a quartet to sing Christmas

the class. It was reported that Har
