At the business meeting It was voted to give $50 to the education and International relations depart ments of Connecticut college. After an appetizing luncheon, served, by tlio Junior College club of .Meriden, Miss Louise Wroekoff, intructlon in music at Kobe college Japan, spoke on the progress of col legiate instruction for women In that country, .Mies Marguerite Jones of Hunter college spoke on tho value of an auxiliary international language. Tho purpose of such a language, she said, was not to replace tho national lan guage, but to supply the necessities of international conferences, busi ness, science and radio broadcasting. Esperanto has been endorsed by Buch institutions as the International lied Cross and such men as Eliliu Root and Professor Einstein. President Marshall of Connecticut college described that college us a colelgo planned for women und no! as an Imitation of a man's college, Its ideals are cooperation, apprecia tion and loyalty. He boasted of its high rating and of the type of girl who studies there. The attainment of Its ideal is proved by the fact that r.bt even the faculty is subjected to orders. Miss Martha Koehne, who holds an A. A. f. W. fellowship at Vale nnd who is the director of the do. partition!' of nutrition at Seattle, Washington, spoke on nutrition. The subject of nutrition, she scid, pre sents itself in five steps: Selection of food, planning of meals, rookery, psychology of feeding, and lhe will to eat food chosen and prepared and .served according to these sciences.
