Hampton's Vegetable Tincture! THE GREAT DISCOVERY OF THE AGE?READ! READ! Joy to the World?Hope for the Afflicted?More Tes timony from Home ! Baltimore, Sept. 11,1851. Messrs. Mortimrr rf Mowbray: I feel it a duty to make known the benefits I have derived from Dr. Hampton's Tincture. For a length of time I have been suttfcct to great prostration of muscular power, and great debility of the ner vous system, accompanied with palpitation aud fluttering ot the heart. I had such sudden attacks, that on one occasion I could scarcely get home. I making mentlou of my case to a friend, he referred me to Joseph K. Stapletoa, esq., an old and highly respectable citizen of Baltimore, who had used the Tincture under similar circumstances. I called on Mr. Stapletou, and, after an interview of some minutes, I was fully satisfied of the medical virtues of the Tincture from tho evidence before me, of his own person, who, for some time previous, indicated a failing stote of health, but now a hearty, hale appearuncc, with the activity of youth. I im mediately commenced using the Tincture, aud, before I took the contents of one bottle, my strength was renewed, and lean walk as brisk, find am as active as I was twenty years ago. This Tincture is the grand restorative of the digestive organs, which when destroyod, the whole system is in a state of suffering. I do assert that It is no humbug, but Is, in reality, what It is represented to be by Dr. Hampton. Iho inventor. Wm. A. PctlAEFFKR, Corner Lombard and Sharp streets. STILL ANOTHER CURE "of RHEUMATISM OF TWO YEARS' STANDING! The World cannot product such a mass of Honte Testimony in Javor of any other Malicine ! Baltimore, Jan. 23,1852. Messrs. Mortimer & Mowbray?Gents: I feel it a duty I owe to myself and the community, to speak in commenda tion of your celebrated Hampton's Vegetable Tincture. I have been afflicted for the last two years with the chronic inflammatory rheumatism in Us severest form; unable to walk without support. Having heard of your valuable med icine, I deemed it expedient to give it a trial, and, after using several bottle*. I was agreeably surprised to flnd myself en tirely relieved from that most hoirible dicow which tb<> human frame is subject to. I do take great pleasure in recommending Hampton's Vegetable Tincturo to all afflicted as I was, as a certain and permanent remedy. I feel I cannot do that justice to your celebrated medicine it merits, but, in conclusion, I would say to all who are af flicted to give it a fair trial. 8 GEORGE W. GOODRICK, No. 28 Second stroet, Baltimore. ASTOUNDING EFFECTS!!?THE WHOLE AFFLICTED WORLD READ!!!?A LADY RESTORED AFTER TWO YEAR8' SICKNESS!!!! Norfolk, Dec. 6, 1851. Messrs. Mortimer A Mowbray : Hampton's Vegetable Tinc ture is certainly workiug miraculous results here. In the way of cures, but there seems to be a diffidence on the part of those cured to give a certificate, which, hi justice to the afflicted, should not exist. I could mention a dozen oases of importance in which It has been successful in curing the worst kind of diseases; but It appears to cure them so oasilv, and its effects are so magical, they do not appear to be able to realize It, though they are i>erfeetly satisfied they are curod. I will mention two caucs which have lately comc under my notice. A lady who had been confined to her bed for be tween one and two years, and on whom the doctors had been attending during that time without any success, was in duced to try tho Tincture, and after taking one bottle she was enabled to sit up In her bed ; and after taking the second bottle she was enabled to be up, stirring about the house?a thing she had not done for two years, as I was informed by her husband, who called on me, in perfect ecstacy, aud said he had at last found the much-ncoded panacea. I think he will furnish you with a certificate of the strongest character. Another gentleman informod mo that he had a very valu able negro woman so far gone by disease that he would have taken twenty-five dollars for her, but the first bottle was so effective that he felt confident of a perfect cure. Yours, rospoctfully, John R. IIatuawat. REV. VERNON ESKRIDGE, U. S. N. Portsmouth, Va., Aug. 18,1681. Mr. J. E. Bousli?Dear sir: While I am, in general, op posed to patent medicines, candor oompels me to state that I have great confidence in tho virtues of Hampton's Vegetable I'incture. For several months past I have used it in my family : at>d In dys|>epsia, loss of appotito, dizziness, and gen eral debility, with entire success. So far as my experience extends, therefore, 1 take pleasure in recommending It to the afflicted as a safe and efficient remedy. ALKKKD GAlTllt-R, dec l:$-dlin Superintendent of Transportation. CIRCULAR. WASUINUTON, August 1,1861. SIR: After consulting many persons interested in the principal Railroads In the United States, the under signed propone to establish agencies in this city and in New York, for the purpose of collecting full and authen tic Railroad statistics and such other information as will enable them to serve persons desiring to invest in Rail road securities, or to procure information of any matters connected with the contraction and administration of Railroads. They also propose, especially, to urge upon Congress a modification of the Uwb relating to contracts for carrying the mail, so us to authorize the Post Office Department to contract for the perpetual use of Railroads, and, instead of paying, as now, quarterly ou contracts for four years, to advance in live percent, bonds of the United State?, chargeable upon the revenues of the Post Office Department, an amount, the interest upou which at 0 per cent, would equal the payments now made. The Government now pays $300 per mile for carrying the mail on first-class Railroads. This is 6 per cent, on $5,000. The uuderslgned would urge that, Instead of pay ing $300 a mile, per annum, the Department should de liver, on u contract In perpetuity, live $1,000 bonds, bearing nn interest of live per centum. At this rate the charge upon the Department would be reduced from $300 to $'250 a mile, per aunum, and the $50 a mile saved would creato a sinking fund, which will, iu a few years, pay off the bonds, and give the use of such rouds forever thereafter free of all charge; thereby effecting a vast saving on the present annual expenditures of the I'ost Office Department, and a consequent reduction of the rates of postage. The effect will be no less advantageous to Railroad com panies than to the Government. For instance, such a contract would give to thu Baltimore aud Ohio Railroad Company more thun $2,000,000, which would enable that company to complete its road at an uarly day, aud greatly increase Its business aud profits. But to meet objections and impress the public mind with a proper sense of the benefits to result from this measure will require concert of action and continued active effort, through the press and otherwise. The un dersigned teuder their services to your company, expect ing a reasonable compensation partly contingent upon the success of the measure; and respectfully suggest the propriety of your wending one or more delegates to thiH city, on the first Wednesday In December next, to confer with delegates from other Railroad companies, as to the fetalis of the proposed arrangement and thm beet mode ot bringing the subject before Congress. Should it be your pleasure to accept of our services in this matter, we will promptly attend to all other business, which you, or your Company, may havo with the "Post Office Department, or other branch of the Government. Hoping to hear from you at your earliest convenience, we arc, respcctfullv, your obedient servants, DUFF GRKEN, uov 20?tf BEN. E. GREEN. REMOVAL. It is to be in marble; Luciardini, an Italian sculptor, will execute it. It is gratifying to know that this Emperor has both poetic taste and gratitude, a monument of nhirh lie is about to erect. As for the poet, the art of printing will secure him to an immortality that marble cannot boast.
