June 16?eofcf [Tntelllgencer copy.] BETTER THAN GOLD! Portsmouth, July 9,1851. Mr. J. E. Bot'SH?Dear Sir: I feel it a duty to make known the benefit I have derived from Dr. Hampton's VEGETABLE TINCTURE. For a number of years 1 suffered from disease, but to a greater degree for the last throe years. One of the forms of my disease was dyspep sia. From this dreadful malady I suffered to such an ex tent that life was really a burdon. The attack of it on me WHS different to that on any other person of whom 1 have heard; at times it was like the palpi Latouofthc heart: there was a constant thumping and beating out intermission about the region of my heart, chest, and stomach ,^">nie of the attacks would last for weeks ;my stomach was much distended, with constant pain, grta weakness, and constipation of the bowels. I could not Tat the most simple fcod without pain I also suffered greatly from disease of the kidneys, with constant pain fn the hack. that 1 could walk only with great difficulty. 1 tried nearly *11 of the most celebrated patent medicines of the day, but found no relief. 1 had also the best medi ral attendance. One of my phy-icians frankly told me it was of no use for me to Is- paying him for advice, as he could do me no good. 1 gavo up almost In despair, and thought my disease certainly incurable.^ At this juncture I heard of Hampton s \ egetabl T ture. I refused to give It a trial, although persuade,! by my Wends, until my son purchased a t?w bottles, and | requested mo to try it; after taking It a few times, it had I a most happy effect on me; my confidence increased, and j I after taking three bottles, my dyspepsia, or disease of the stomach, was nearly If not entirely cured. 1 now feel myself a new man. and In better health than for years. I am certain the i uro In iny case was made by thU ton's Vegetable Tincture alone. Since my cure have recommended the tincture to a number of my friends, who have also been relieved by it. Some of the cures | have been as rapid and equally wonderful as mine I I present my respects to Messrs. Mortimer A Mowbray, tlie proprietors of this valuable medicine, and say to them Its value I* above price; and from my cure, and what 1 have seen of its effects on others. I shall ever feel it my I duty to recommend it to the suffering. I have no doubt I many valuable lives will be prolonged by Its use. Ihopc ' the afflicted will cast aside their prejtidices and give It a I trial. Your* most respectfully, JobsLuH. I The above Is extracted from a letter from a gentleman I sixty years of age, and of high character. He have given but a faint idea of my sufferings ; I feel inad equate to the task " We also have received. In the last few days, tetters from two of our most worthy and well known citizens, giving two mnarkable cures of spinal disease. But yesterday one of the oldest merchants re ported that he was cured of neuralgia of .the head, of years standing, and so bail that his teeth fell ont from its effects. Call and see letters.
