Isely of Fairmount, who is statistician for tho Chambor of Cora merce, flled the following- report yesterday afternoon. This report will be of interest 10 all Kans3!:. .iid especially to residents of "this count.,, as it concerns the large wheat crop of this year in Kansas: "The monstrous wheat crop of the pres ent year has given Kansas an added pre eminence among the world's wheat pro ducers. The wheat yield in Kansas for tho present season will' aggregate more than one hundred million bushels, or about one thirty-fifth of all thew heat produced on the entire globe. In this con ntction it is of interest to the. people of "Wichita to know that Sedgwick county stands well in the list of wheat producers, being credited by Secretary Coburn with a yield of 1.915,560 bushels. This is a hs.ndsome showing, although not equal to the crop of 1S01, when the county pro duced over three million bushels of w.neat. "A further study of the official fig mes of the state agricultural department reveals the fact that wheat raising in Sedgwick county, with the exception of a few ayers, has always yielded a. bounti ful return. Below will be found figures of the annual amount of wheat produced in this county during the past- quarter of a century. Thirty-one million, two hun dred and fifty-four thousand, four hun dred and ninety bushels is the grand ag gregate for this period. The Yalue of this wheat is reckoned at the princely sum of $19,725,341. of nearly $20,000,000. A further investigation shows that the av erage yield during these twenty-six years has been fourteen and four-fifths bushels per acre. The yield by years follows: 1S78. 1.SS3.S3S; 1S79. 697.1G0; 1SS0, 912.010; 18S1; 3.0S5.117; 18S2, 1,218.250; 1SS3, 9S1.55S; 1SS4, 1 735.G4G; 1SS5 337.1S3; 1SSG. 123,820; 1S87, 178. 000; 1SS8, 257.310; 1SS9, 864.041; 1890, 944,424; 3891 2.0S3.940; 1892. 1.S74.S44; 1S93( S68.B04r 1S94 S33.CS0; 1893. 279.711; 1S9G, 971.802; 1S97, 1,493.712; 1893, 1.SCC.57S; 1899. 1.159,776; 1900, 2,589,531; 1901, 3.004.C17; 1902, 1.50S.59S; 1903, 1,945,860.
