The hog market was steady yesterday
with Friday's prices and the receipts
were extremely light, but nothing unusual
for Saturday. The fact that the market
has been holding up for the last day cr
so satisfactorily makes business some
what better. A much larger shipment of
stock is expected this week than last
and it is hoped that there will be a
change in the prices for the better.
Kansas City's market has been in a
poor condition for the past ten days, and

shape and the prices paid here have been
so near to the other markets that it
would pay shippers from this section of
the country and Oklahoma to ship stock
to that point.
During the past week there has been a
good market for light stuff, all offerings
in this line having been taken at a fair

There are now four buyers at the yards
who do nothing but buy hogs, and there
are also several cattle buyers. As time
goes on the packing houses are expanding-
and more business is added to their
already enormous trade. This requires
more stock and therefore a stronger de
mand. The supply for the past two weeks
has been insufficient for the demand.

Harvey Grace, the politician-stockman,
of Cheney, came in yesterday with a
load of hogs.
Pond Creek, O. T.. was represented in
the market yesterday by E. AV. Johnson,
who shipped in a load of hogs.
T. O.' Beveins, of Watcnga, O. T., had
a car load of hogs in the market yes
terday. Allie Spencer, of the firm of Healy &
Co., was able to be on duty yesterday
at the yards after several days of sick
ness. Everybody is glad to sec Allie
up and doing again. ,
AV. R. Dulaney, superintendent of the
yards, must be given the honor of be
ing the biggest biscuit consumer of all
