FIVE 3 II 1C 11 11 1L . n n ' J 1L. 1L MOUSE , Cooking with gas is the modern way of keeping house. Cooking with coal or wood means hot, hard, dirty work. And sometimes the stove won't draw. When you cook with gas you use a match for kindling no dirt, no trouble. The kitchen is always clean And there is no smoke and heat to blow into your other rooms. Don't think that cooking with gas is expensive. On the contrary it is very economical, as the fire is going only when you want it and it gives heat where heat is needed. Once you use gas for fuel you'd never be without it. in your home. : : V : : Why not have "Gas Service" TELEPHONES Day Service 3424 After 8 P. An investigator assigned to this problem In any given locality first ascertains the extent of the territory that is tributary to any main - road, much as one might ascertain the ter ritory' tributary to some riven. Practical Prescription . Against Stomach' Acidity Nine-tenths of all cases of stomach trouble nowadays are caused by too much acid. In the beginning the stomach itself is not diseased but if this acid condition is allowed to con tinue the acid is very likely to eat into the stomach walls and produce stomach ulcers which may render a radical surgical operation necessary even to prolong life. Therefore, an "acid "stomach" is really a dangerous condition and should be treated seri ously. It is utterly useless to . take pepsin and ordinary stomach tablets. The excess acid or stomach hypera-; cidity must be neutralized by the ad ministration of an efficient antacid. For this purpose the best remedy is ! bisurated magnesia taken in teaspoon ful doses in a fourth of a glass of wa ter after each meal. Larger quanti ties may be used if necessary as it is absolutely harmless. Be sure to ask your druggist for the bisurated magnesia as other forms of magnesia make effective mouth washes but thej have not the same action on the stom ach as the bisurated. Russia i3 about to recognize as legitimate the emigration cf her surplus millions to countries other than those in Eu rope, and the ministry of commerce today submitted to the cabinet a b'll to abolish some of the penalties hith erto attaching to unauthorized eml- , gration. The bill, in its preamble, specially refers to the 281,000 emigrants from Russia to America last year, and also to the fact that IGO.OOO.OOO was remit ted to Russia in. 191 3 by Russian sub jects who have settled on the other side of the Atlantic. Cheap Passports. In the place of the expensive pass ports which heretofore have been ne cessary to everybody; desiring to de part from Russia, permits will be issued at the coast of only ten cents in future. The fine of $7.50 half yearly until now inflicted Jn absentees who have been more than six months abroad, is to be abolished in the case of those returning on board Russian steamers. The bill also provides for the estab lishment of a fund to assist emigrants in Russian ports and abroad and for the appointment of a special commis sion to defend their interests in for eign countries. Emigration agents, bv one clause of the bill, are made liable to imnrison ment for holding cut false induce ments to emigrants. "Now, my son. voir are married. Be what a man ought to be."
